Public Funding Agencies for research and innovationEdit
The main public funding organisation for research and development is Tekes. Tekes funds industrial projects and projects in research organisations. Tekes's main funding focus are innovative and risk-intensive projects.
The Academy of Finland provides funding for high-quality scientific research, serves as an expert in science and science policy, and strengthens the position of science and research. The Academy is also committed to increasing public understanding of science through science events and science weeks.
Offices of Technology Transfer from Public Research InstitutionsEdit
The main technology transfer offices in Finland are located at the main Finnish universities and public research institutes:
- Finnish Science Park Association TEKEL
The Finnish Innovation System Edit
The Science and Technology Council of Finland, which was established in March 1987, is responsible for the strategic development and coordination of the Finnish science and technology policy and of the national innovation system as a whole.
Additional data on the Finnish innovation system can be found through the Finnish Science and Technology Infomation Service. The Information Service is also a source of key statistics and other data on science and technology in Finland.
